Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Masters Guide (Used: Poor to Fair)

AD&D 1st Edition Dungeon Masters Guide, eighth printing, circa 1983. Complete and usable with intact binding. Extensive historic water staining, page-edge discoloration, foxing, and heavy cover wear. No owner writing observed.

The copyright page still says “Revised Edition, December 1979,” but this is not a 1979 printing. TSR introduced the Easley door cover and orange spine with the eighth printing in 1983. Printing numbers apparently did not begin appearing inside these books until later in the 1980s, so the unchanged copyright page is normal for this version.

The final few uploaded pictures repeat the previous Monster Manual, so I based this valuation on the Dungeon Masters Guide photographs.

Condition: Fair to Poor-Fair

Positives

• Binding appears intact and usable

• Spine remains readable

• Front-cover artwork is complete and still presents reasonably well

• Interior text appears complete and legible

• No loose or missing pages are visible

• It is still perfectly serviceable as a play copy

Detractions

• Extensive old liquid staining along the upper page edges

• Water staining visible across many interior pages

• Pronounced staining along the outer page block

• Heavy rubbing and surface loss on the back cover

• Considerable corner and edge wear

• General foxing, discoloration, and age toning

• Some page waviness from previous moisture exposure
